Description

Silk protein & silver based soft, conformable, super absorbent PU foam dressing without backing for management of wide range of low to highly exuding, infected wounds with delayed healing such as diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers and sores. The dressing can also be used for management of 2nd degree burns, donor sites, skin abrasions, partial and full thickness wounds, trauma or surgical wounds, mechanically or surgically debrided wounds, orthopaedic and vascular wounds.; especially during the inflammatory phase following debridement and de-sloughing, when exudates are more, and wound drainage is at its peak. This non-adhesive foam dressing efficiently traps the excess wound exudates, keeps the wound area clean by allowing evaporation through pores and thus reduces the risk of maceration.

Additionally, the foam dressing has silver nanoparticles embedded in combination with silk protein to control microbial growth and promote faster wound healing by fibroblast proliferation and collagen deposition. It has broad spectrum anti-microbial activity for prolonged time due to the sustained release mechanism of silver ions which effectively controls infection at the wound site, decreases bioburden levels and creates a wound environment conducive to faster healing.
It can be used in combination with NPWT and compression therapy.
